James Legge

Freo Social

After working 10 years in the finance/banking sector I found my calling in music festivals as a co-owner of Sunset Events, which was WA’s leading festival promoter for nearly two decades. More recently I co-founded Triple-1-Three, a brewing, venues and hospitality group. Now days it’s more like a 365-day mini-festival! I love creating great experiences and bringing people together, particularly at Freo.Social, one of WA’s leading performance venues.

JC later played a central role in the redevelopment of Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide and is currently part of the design team behind Northbridge Music Hall, a new venue under development in Perth.
In 2024, JC was appointed Queensland’s Night-life Economy Commissioner, leading efforts to strengthen the night-time economy across the state, to increase Queensland’s vibrancy and to be the connection between the industry and the state government.

He was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2024 for his services to the music industry and continues to play a key role in shaping not only the future of night-life in Queensland, but the live music ecosystem across Australia.
